Absentee Ballot Deadline Is Tuesday

Residents who need an absentee ballot for the upcoming May 17 primary must apply before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.

Allegheny County residents who need an absentee ballot for the upcoming May 17 primary must apply before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.

Absentee ballots are available to registered voters who will be out of town on May 17 or those who cannot get to the polls due to an illness or physical disability.

Applications can be requested through the mail or in person at the Allegheny County Elections Division, 601 County Office Building, 542 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Voters may also obtain an application by calling 412-350-4520 or by visiting www.votespa.com.

Election officials urge registered voters to receive their absentee ballots in person. 

"If properly registered, voters will be handed an absentee ballot to vote on the spot, which only takes a few minutes," Kevin Evanto stated in a news release.

The voted absentee ballot must be returned to the Elections Division no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13.
