Woman Accused of Stealing $1,200 of Items from Area Stores

A Mt. Lebanon woman was arrested last month after police said she tried to steal $1,200 worth of merchandise from four stores in Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park.

A Mt. Lebanon woman was arrested last month after police said she tried to steal $1,200 worth of merchandise from four stores in Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park.

Lisa Anne Chambers, 52, faces several charges of retail theft and was held for court on two of the counts when she failed to show up for her Monday afternoon preliminary hearing with District Judge Robert Wyda.

Police from Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair said they were alerted on March 19 to a woman who ran from Kohl’s carrying more than $700 items. Police said she dropped a blender and knife set in the lobby as she ran from the store, but still had various fragrances in her purse.

Police arrested her and said she also took teeth whitening strips, makeup, tweezers, eyeliner, lip gloss and blush totaling $244 from the CVS Pharmacy on Washington Road.

Investigators also accused Chambers of stealing several items from the Petco in Bethel park and Rite in Aid in Upper St. Clair, Police said they found $252 worth of merchandise from those stores.
