Upper St. Clair Car Theft Suspects Waive Hearings

Three men charged with breaking into at least ten Upper St. Clair residents' vehicles waived their preliminary hearings to court on Monday.

Maxwell Brenner, 18, of 2240 Bernard St., Pittsburgh, PA 15234; Jarrod Bodzer, 22, of 489 Lamarido St., Pittsburgh, PA 15226; and Daniel Hancock, Jr., 21, of 1210 Oakridge St., Pittsburgh, PA 15226 were .

The Allegheny County District Attorney's office reduced each man's charges from ten counts of theft by unlawful taking to reflect that each man is accused from stealing from a motor vehicle. Five of the counts are a misdemeanor to the first degree and five of the counts are a misdemeanor of the second degree, based on the different valuables the men are accused of stealing.

Upper St. Clair police stated in the criminal complaint that they found the men in possession of various electronic items, including gps units and cell phones in a plastic shopping bag.

Brenner, Bodzer and Hancock still each face one count of receiving stolen property, one count of criminal conspiracy, and one count of loitering and prowling at nighttime.

Charges Reduced

-Tracy Ann Smith, 44, of 1713 Patrick Place, South Park, PA 15129, had a retail theft charge reduced to a summary offense. According to the criminal complaint filed by Upper St. Clair police, a security guard observed Smith stealing $569.10 worth of merchandise from Sears at South Hills Village on June 28. Smith has three prior retail theft convictions and must spend seven days in the Allegheny County Jail.

-David Anthony Delbianco, 27, of 2565 Willowbrook Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241 had one count of loitering and prowling at nighttime, one count of simple trespass and one count of public drunkenness reduced to a summary trespass. According to the criminal complaint filed by Upper St. Clair police, the residents of a home on Oaklawn Drive heard their dog barking and found the suspect, Delbianco, standing in the hallway. After yelling at the unknown man to leave, police stated he ran out of the back door. Police stated they found Delbianco in a yard on Willowbrook Road and told officers he thought he had been at a friend's house. Delbianco has 30 days to pay a fine.

-Kathryn L. Smith, 22, of 210 10th St., Sharpsburg, PA 15215, had one count prohibited act and one count disorderly conduct reduced to a summary disorderly conflict.

-Stephanie N. Lieb, 20, of 1304 Rockland Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15216, charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking. According to the criminal complaint filed by Upper St. Clair police, Lieb is accused of stealing a gold and diamond ring worth $1,500 from a home on Hollowtree Drive while she and her mom were cleaning the home. Officers stated she sold the ring for $170 to buy drugs.
