Three Men Charged With Breaking Into Vehicles in Upper St. Clair

Upper St. Clair police arrested three men who admitted to breaking into vehicles early Thursday morning on Blairmont Drive and Trotwood Circle.

Police arrested Maxwell Brenner, 18, of 2240 Bernard St., Pittsburgh, PA 15234; Jarrod Bodzer, 21, of 489 Lamarido St., Pittsburgh, PA 15226; and Daniel Hancock, Jr., 21, of 1210 Oakridge St., Pittsburgh, PA 15226 on Thursday just before 3 a.m.

According to the criminal complaints filed with district Judge Robert Wyda, police received a report from a Blairmont Drive resident who heard his car alarm activate in his driveway, opened the front door and saw three men run off. 

Police said they found a red Subaru Outback Legacy nearby on Trotwood Circle and its hood was still warm. They searched for the suspects and arrested the men as they were approaching the Subaru.

Police stated in the criminal complaint that the men were in possession of various electronic items, including gps units and cell phones in a plastic shopping bag. Police also said the men admitted to the thefts.

Brenner, Bodzer and Hancock are all facing one count of theft by unlawful taking, one count of receiving stolen property, one count of criminal conspiracy, and one count of loitering and prowling at nighttime.

They are in the Allegheny County Jail on $50,000 bond and will face a preliminary hearing on Monday, July 11.

Township Manager Matthew Serakowski reminds Upper St. Clair residents the importance of locking their vehicles and not leaving valuables within their vehicles.

Upper St. Clair police Chief Ronald Pardini did not respond to requests for comment.
