Suspected USC Bank Robber Arrested

Mt. Washington man is charged with four robberies outside of Upper St. Clair.

A Mt. Washington man suspected of was arrested after Pittsburgh police said he robbed another bank in Oakland.

Thomas Doyle, 54, is a suspect in the robbery at Parkvale Bank on Forbes Avenue Wednesday. Police said Doyle passed a bank teller a note demanding money. No gun was shown and the employee complied, according to police. Another employee was able to see the suspect flee in a maroon Jeep. Investigators used the bank's surveillance video to identify the suspect as a known offender with multiple outstanding warrants.

Pittsburgh police officers located the maroon Jeep in Allentown. They said the vehicle was stolen from Crafton, and arrested Doyle as he was walking in the vicinity of Allen and Eureka Streets.

Doyle is being held the Allegheny County Jail and faces multiple charges. Not only is he charged with robbing the Parkvale Bank in Oakland, he also is charged with robbing a Subway on Brownsville Road in Carrick on Oct. 18, robbing the CoGo's on Bailey Avenue in Mt. Washington on Feb. 9 and robbing the CoGo's on Virginia Avenue in Mt. Washington on Feb. 11.

Doyle also was wanted for questioning by the Upper St. Clair and Crafton police, and McKees Rocks police have charges pending against him, Pittsburgh police said.

Upper St. Clair police said Doyle is a suspect in the robbery of the PNC Bank near South Hills Village Mall on Feb. 16.
