Providence Point Worker Charged with Stealing Resident's Checks

Police aren't sure if the nursing assistant is also involved in other thefts at the Scott Township facility.

have obtained an arrest warrant against a former nursing assistant at Providence Point accused of cashing a resident’s checks.

Police on Jan. 2 charged Lucy J. Reynolds, 34, of Pittsburgh, with three counts each of forgery and receiving stolen property, and another charge of false reports to police. A state constable is searching for Reynolds to arrest her.

Police said Reynolds worked as a certified nursing assistant at and took a resident’s checkbook and cashed three checks. However, investigators said she denies being involved in the rash of thefts that swept through the Scott Township assisted living facility over the past few months.

“At this time, she is not a suspect in the other reported thefts at that location,” Scott police Sgt. Steve Fury said. “Those crimes are still under investigation.”

Residents living at the facility along Kane Boulevard that included jewelry, silverware, silver plate settings. Providence Point officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
