No Injuries Following Morning Crash on East McMurray Road

Just before 11 a.m., Stephanie A. Armstrong, 40, of Canonsburg, quickly accelerated her Volkswagen in the eastbound lane striking Jane B. Moffitt's BMW directly in front of her vehicle. Moffitt, 65, of McCandless Township, stopped for traffic before she was hit near the 300 block of East McMurray Road, according to .

The accident occurred just prior to where the flag person was directing traffic, police said.

Armstrong's vehicle had heavy front-end damage and the air bag was deployed. Moffitt complained of minor neck pain, but was not taken to a hospital, according to police.

Traffic resumed as normal shortly after.

Single-lane closures at Center Church and East McMurray roads 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday will continue until the current part of the project is complete, which PennDOT projects as late October.
