Mom Charged With Making Threat Against Upper St. Clair School Employee

The Upper St. Clair School District took an Upper St. Clair mother to court Monday after an alleged threat she made put the high school on lockdown last month.

Suzanne Garlitz is charged with one count of terroristic threats and one count of disorderly conduct, and accused of harassment and more disorderly conduct in a second and earlier case from March.

The district and Garlitz agreed to a list of terms and conditions Monday. District Judge Robert Wyda will review the case in about 90 days and charges will be dropped if all the terms and conditions are met.

The agreement restricts Garlitz from calling or emailing the school district or any district personnel and requires Garlitz to give the district advance notice before attending school events.

According to the criminal complaint filed by the Upper St. Clair police, the school district accuses Garlitz of threatening to kill a district administrator after she asked to reschedule a meeting regarding one of her children. Garlitz denies the allegation.

The district also accuses Garlitz of making excessive phone calls to school employees, using offensive language and going on verbally-abusive tirades in the high school office waiting room.
