Huffing & Driving Charge
A charge of driving under the influence for Brian Keith Pfender, Jr., 20, of Bethel Park, was waived on June 17 for Allegheny County Court, where Pfender is scheduled for an Aug. 2 arraignment.
Upper St. Clair Township police stated in a criminal complaint filed in district Judge Robert C. Wyda's office that Pfender is suspected of huffing "industrial strength aerosol duster" prior to crashing his vehicle into a tree at the corner of McMurray Road and Southridge Drive during the night of April 4.
Vodka Theft
John Michael Dixon, 52, of Upper St. Clair, who was charged in late January with stealing a bottle of vodka from a Pennsylvania Wine & Spirits store in Bethel Park, pleaded guilty before Wyda on June 17 to retail theft, was fined and was ordered to stay out of the store.
Other Charges
- Kaylin Anne Lyon, 19, of Lawrence (Cecil Township), PA, is charged with stealing $380 in PlayStation3 gear from the Sears at South Hills Village in early February. Lyon's preliminary hearing before Wyda on June 17 was continued to July 1.
- Michelle Kinder, 36, of Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood, is charged with stealing two Coach purses from the Macy's at South Hills Village in mid-December. Kinder's preliminary hearing before Wyda on June 17 was continued for 90 days.
- Thomas Allan Baily, 44, of Monongahela Township, PA, is charged with stealing $180 in tools from the Sears at South Hills Village in mid-January. Baily's preliminary hearing before Wyda on June 17 was continued indefinitely.
