Employee Charged with Stealing from Lottery Machines in Upper St. Clair

Missing is $16,000.

Management of the Sunoco and Marathon gas stations along Painters Run Road in Upper St. Clair Township say that employee Cory M. Work stole cash from the stations' Pennsylvania Lottery machines, according to court documents.

Charges of theft by unlawful taking and burglary were filed with the Upper St. Clair police in July, and Work, 34, of Railroad Street in South Fayette Township, is scheduled to appear at the Upper St. Clair-Bethel Park magistrate's office on Sept. 9.

Store management "has compiled a series of events which clearly shows Work accessing the machines in unauthorized fashion," including video footage, according to court documents.

The machines are missing a total of $16,000.
