DUI Arrest Made on Route 19 of Upper St. Clair Woman

The traffic stop began with an illegal turn, according to court documents.

An Upper St. Clair Township police officer stopped a vehicle on Route 19 at around 12:30 a.m. on May 25 after observing it make an illegal turn onto Route 19 South from a Route 19 North on-ramp, according to court documents.

The officer suspected the vehicle's driver—Laura L. Luksik, 45, of Berkshire Drive in Upper St. Clair—of drunk driving and put Luksik through field-sobriety tests. She performed poorly on those tests, according to court documents, was arrested and is being charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Luksik's DUI charge was waived on Tuesday for Allegheny County Court, where she is scheduled for an Aug. 16 arraignment.
