An eight-inch water main that broke at the intersection of McMurray and Harrow Roads in Upper St. Clair this morning has been repaired.
Approximately 40 to 50 homes were without water during the fix, according to the Upper St. Clair Public Works Department. The homes affected were along McMurray Road from Johnston Road to Ruthfred Drive. The homes affected along Harrow Road were from McMurray Road to Sandhurst Road.
"It's a pretty routine repair, said Josephine Posti, a Pennsylvania American Water spokesperson.
The Upper St. Clair Public Works Department was on the scene with Pennsylvania American Water crews helping with the clean-up Wednesday.
"There is a lot of debris," said George Kostelich, public works director, on Wednesday morning. "We expect the fix to be lengthy...it will affect traffic all day."
There was one lane of alternating traffic on McMurray Road until about 1:30 p.m.
