Court Cases: Man Pleads Guilty to Theft, Traffic Violations

Also, a woman accused of unauthorized credit card use has her hearing rescheduled.

Talk about having a bad day.

A South Hills man appeared before District Judge Robert Wyda on Monday facing a retail theft charge and two traffic citations, all the result of a May 28 visit to South Hills Village.

James Severino Sr., 42, pleaded guilty to the theft of two saws, valued at $299.98, from Sears, according to court records. He was ordered to pay court costs.

He also pleaded guilty to citations issued by Upper St. Clair police, for driving with a suspended license and careless driving, near the mall.

Also on Monday, a preliminary hearing was rescheduled for a woman who is accused of using a 73-year-old Upper St. Clair resident’s credit card without his permission.

, 28, formerly of Uniontown, is accused of making $3,100 worth of unauthorized purchases. Her hearing before Wyda on charges of forgery and access device fraud is set for Aug. 20.
