Are Your Fireworks Legal?
Here are some tips to tell which fireworks in your supply are legal and which could get you arrested.
Are fireworks part of your Fourth of July celebrations in and around Upper St. Clair?
If so, you might want to bone up on which fireworks are legal. Here's a helpful guide from Pittsburgh police:
Illegal fireworks are fireworks that fly up into the air or explode. Illegal fireworks include firecrackers, M-80s, missiles, sky or bottle rockets, Roman Candles, any “launching” style aerial display devices (mortar tubes), mine and shell devices, Helicopters and Ariel Spinners.
If you've got any of these in your supply, you might want to think twice before setting them off.
Other types of fireworks are perfectly legal and can be enjoyed in your backyard.
Legal fireworks are those that stay on the ground—they might be snap-crackle-popping, but they're not exploding in the air. Legal fireworks include sparklers, cylindrical and cone fountains, illuminating torches, wheels, ground spinners, smoke devices, party poppers and snakes.
