Shirley Jones is Exposed as a Person with No Class

Shame on Shirley Jones.

 

The woman we have known as the genteel, dignified, sophisticated,  and refined star of stage and screen has written a tell-all book, in which she feels the need to relate information about her orgasms, the endowment of late husband Jack Cassidy, the couple’s threesome involving a woman, and Cassidy’s alleged sexual encounter with the late, great songwriter Cole Porter.

I suppose nothing should surprise me in a popular culture society in which anything goes:  television commercials which ask point blank whether we suffer from diarrhea, bloating, or gas, in which every sporting event targeted in part to impressionable children features ads for erectile dysfunction aids, and in which we are expected to be influenced by hillbilly “Larry the Cable Guy” to purchase a dangerous drug to treat symptoms of indigestion.

I assume that Miss Jones wrote this book because she needs the money and felt that the easiest path to publishing success is to provide the American people what they crave: slop.

 

It used to be said that a person with class does not kiss and tell.  I imagine that few would be familiar with that tenet today let alone practice it.
