Sam's Club - You Can Have It!

After availing myself of a one-day Sam's Club pass, I was reminded of why I would never join, and I have a new appreciation for the many fine Giant Eagle stores at which I regularly shop.
Sam's Club is an organization for those that do not know prices and who do not mind shopping in spartan conditions, a barn-like space, with no frills, but plenty of red tape.
First and foremost, the prices are high, even when one buys in enormous quantities.  Sam's Club does not beat sale prices of rival grocery stores like Giant Eagle, and it does not double manufacturer coupon values. To cite just one example, the Hellman's Mayonnaise I sought is less expensive per ounce this week on sale elsewhere in the 30-ounce container than in the gallon jar at Sam's Club.
I was shocked to find at the checkout that my VISA credit card, accepted at about 99% of merchants throughout the United States, is not honored at Sam's Club, only the VISA debit card is welcomed. I had to pay cash for my purchase.
Additionally, the customer with a basic membership and those with a one-day pass pay 10% more than the price marked, causing confusion in some and the need to do calculations to determine what the actual price is.
Store security checks the customer when entering (heaven forbid that a non-member would come in to look around) and exiting (the merchandise is matched to the receipt).  I was handed my purchase with no bag.
For these "privileges", people pay a hefty membership fee?  You can have it, folks! If any store should be charging a membership fee, it is Giant Eagle! I will shop at customer-friendly, customer-focused Giant Eagle, where I can find a great selection of top quality products in an attractive and comfortable atmosphere, excellent sales each week, double coupons to 99-cent face value, Fuelperks, credit card acceptance, self-checkout lanes, and no monitoring at entrances and exits.

Some will say that this essay is a blatant commercial for Giant Eagle, to which I say, "So"?
