"Help" from the Allegheny County Bar Association in Selecting Judges to Retain - No, Thanks!

As another election approaches, we are faced with many choices at the local and state level as to whether we should retain judges for ten-year terms.
Riding to the rescue is the Allegheny County Bar Association, which tells us that judicial elections are confusing and that it can help!  We  are directed to follow its carefully considered recommendations and vote for judges it has declared to be "good".
What makes a "good" judge?  It would appear that to the Bar, it is someone that dispenses probation and/or home confinement to those that commit serious crimes, including grand scale theft.  Particularly sympathetic and in line for leniency is the individual that can cite a drug, alcohol, or gambling addiction which "made" them do it. In just one example, a "good" judge enabled a local individual that stabbed a classmate to death to return to the streets in no time to commit further mayhem.  State Supreme Court Justice Ronald Castille is another "good" judge notwithstanding his proclamation that Justices may accept gifts from those that come before the Court.  "Good" judges in Pennsylvania have served to dismantle the capital punishment statute, making it impossible for anyone to be executed no matter how heinous their crime unless they elect to terminate the endless appeals process.
No thanks, Allegheny County Bar.  I will make my own decisions in judicial races and when in doubt, I will vote against retention.  I do not trust your judgment, which does not serve to foster justice for anyone but the criminal.
