Walmart - Top Notch, Benevolent Corporate Citizen

Walmart has been an easy target for its many foes because it is so big and generates hundreds of billions of dollars in sales and billions in profits each year.  I have not heard much from the company’s critics since it made an unprecedented and marvelous offer to hire any honorably discharged veteran upon his or her return to the United States.

I imagine the company’s motivation will be questioned, but whatever it is, both the company and the thousands of new veteran hires win.  Walmart’s action will relieve one of the many stressors that bear upon our military heroes upon their return to civilian life, including for far too many, the inability to find a job.

Perhaps Walmart’s noble action will enable it to repair its undeserved reputation as a corporate villain.
