North Korean 'Ambassador' Dennis Rodman

Buffoonery on the International Stage, Where the Stakes Are High

If former President Jimmy Carter is too infirm at the age of 88 to continue to be a globetrotting embarrassment to the United States, a capable replacement is waiting in the wings in bizarre former basketball sensation Dennis Rodman.

“Diplomat” Rodman has recently returned from an unauthorized visit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the man that capably carries on the family tradition of repressing, imprisoning, torturing, and starving his citizenry, thousands of whom exist in concentration camps whose operation the leadership denies.

Rodman seeks to bring about a meeting of the minds between Un and President Obama through their love of basketball and urges Mr. Obama to call Un.

Rodman crows that he and Un spent a lovely few days together watching basketball, going to an aquarium and ice skating.  Apparently Mr. Rodman was not taken to any North Korean shanty homes, its brutal prisons, or bread lines. He also fails to report on the condition of the “happy, prosperous” North Korean consumer, whose per capita income is the equivalent of about $1000 per annum.

Nevertheless, so impressed with Un was Rodman that he characterized him as “a great guy, just a great guy.”  Gee, why don’t those ungrateful North Koreans share Rodman’s love of their head of state, who occasionally throws those that are not imprisoned a few grains of rice and a piece of bread?

“The United States Ambassador to North Korea, the distinguished Dennis Rodman” has a nice ring to it.  What do you say, Mr. President?  In lieu of bestowing that appointment, there surely is a place for Dennis Rodman as the North Korean minister of propaganda, one of those that the Communist Soviets used to refer to as “useful idiots.”
