Donald Trump Gets It Right ... For a Change

I am embarrassed to admit it, but today, on one issue, I agree with Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump has called for New York Yankees former superstar and current flop Alex Rodriguez to donate his salary to charity, a splendid idea under the cirucumstances.

Rodriguez, one would like to believe, is a man of some conscience and morality.  Such an individual would have to recognize that he has not performed in a manner which would justify anything close to his staggering $30 million salary for 2012.  The club owes Rodriguiez another $114 million over the next five long years without regard to whether he is able to continue playing the game to the age of 42. Rodriguez is spectacularly wealthy, having garnered most of the money due him in a $252 million 10-year deal which those that signed him surely regret.

A person of decency and integrity could not make off with buckets of money which they have not earned nor face the fans as a former great.

Is Alex Rodriguez an honorable man? How many tens of millions of dollars does he need to live a life the vast majority of his fans could not imagine? He should transfer future ill-gotten gain to worthy organizations that can do a great deal of good with it.
