Alex Rodriguez - Recent Cheater?

It turns out that the mighty New York Yankees may have outsmarted themselves when they signed Alex Rodriguez to a stunning $275 million, 10-year contract which would take him through the point at which he reaches the age of 42, rendering him an elderly man in the ranks of professional baseball players.

Rodriguez has proven himself to be injury-prone, no stranger to slumps and general poor performance, particularly in critical playoff games, and now, there is the likelihood that he has used banned performance enhancing drugs for much of his career, if not throughout it.

In the strange world of baseball, the Yankees may be able to salvage something from their poor decision.  Rodriguez may have done the team a favor if he is found to have cheated, providing his employer a way out of paying him the remaining $114 million he is owed, thereby removing the problem of what to do with an astronomically-priced disappointment.

If the latest accusation against Rodriguez is true, then he will receive what is coming to him, never enjoying induction into the exalted Cooperstown Hall of Fame, an asterisk always placed beside his name and tainted accomplishments.  He also may suffer what no one should wish on him, a miserable life of physical malady due to the effects of steroids that play havoc with the body after a drug-enhanced athletic career has ended.
