The End of Senior Year: When Clichés are Encouraged

The last few weeks of senior year are, as I have heard, make for some of the best moments of the high school experience. See how I spent my last weeks as a USC student!

With the academic year winding down, it is finally the "end of the beginning" for high school seniors.

Graduation party invites are filling local mailboxes, neighbors are asking of our future plans and oddly sentimental thoughts have begun to fill our spent minds. Focusing in school is nearly impossible at this point in the year when the only thing on most seniors minds is the day we can finally accept our diplomas.

The idea of graduating in just a few short weeks is unbelievable. I can still remember my first day at the high school. Those days as a nervous and overwhelmed freshman seem as though they happened a few weeks ago.

In my closet, my collection of dresses from school dances provide me with a timeline of my varying style choices and a reminder of memorable moments from each evening.

The housing forms and course selection guides I have begun to accumulate in preparation for college next year do not seem like they belong to me. Now I am left wondering, when did we all start to grow up?

When I look back upon my time at USCHS, all of the memories have begun to blend together. Unable to differentiate one event from another, I am starting to regret my lacking documentation of my journey through high school. It is, however, never too late to turn a new leaf, so I plan on commemorating my last weeks as a student at USCHS right here over the next weeks.
