Upper St. Clair Weathers Superstorm Sandy

Sandy is no longer a hurricane this morning, but the massive storm continues to impact the weather for millions of people, including Upper St. Clair residents.

Upper St. Clair remains under a flood warning until 11:45 a.m. and a high wind warning until noon, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday's forecast calls for even more rain—between a half and three quarters of an inch. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph.

On Tuesday night, beyween a tenth and quarter of an inch is possible with a low temperature around 38 degrees.

No school was scheduled for the Upper St. Clair School District on Tuesday. However, district officials did cancel today's parent/teacher conferences.

The township postponed Halloween trick-or-treating due to the disaster emergency declared in Allegheny County.

West Penn Power asks customers to call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report outages anddowned power lines. If the phone number that the customer is calling from is registered with their account, the phone system will associate the call with that address. Customers can request “call backs.” These are automated calls from our phone system to customers to let them know when we believe their power is back on.
