A specific day for the start of Boyce Road improvements has yet to be announced following a delay.

Boyce Road motorists who have been wondering when construction is going to start: soon.

Work has been delayed from its scheduled June 14 start, and according to the state Department of Transportation, it will begin later this week, when the contractor is ready to proceed. No specific day has been announced yet.

When the project gets under way, crews will be upgrading drainage, milling and paving, and performing base repairs on about 1.2 miles of the road from Washington Pike in South Fayette Township to Washington Road (Route 19) in Upper St. Clair.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane during work hours. Work will conclude in late August.
