Hospital Staff Dances for Breast Cancer Awareness

The hospital staff needs your vote in the Pink Glove Dance video contest. The winner receives money to donate to a breast cancer research organization of choice.

Staff members at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville put on their dancing shoes—and pink gloves—to enter a contest to create breast cancer awareness.

After two days and 12 hours of footage, almost every department is featured in the hospital's dance video.

The original “Pink Glove Dance” video featured Oregon hospital employees wearing pink gloves to raise breast cancer awareness.

Because of the huge response to the video—13 million views on YouTube—Medline, which produced the original video, decided to sponsor a national competition.

Forbes Regional's video features some fancy dancing as well as choreography, to the tune of “You Won’t Walk Alone,” by Best Day Ever.

Karen Schwaderer, breast care coordinator at Forbes Regional, said the awareness created by the competition is the best prize.

"We did this more so we could tell our patients we support them through their journey," she said. "Almost every department in the hospital participated, so it was a great way to to bring fun into the workplace, as well as awareness."
