Five Things You Need to Know This Week

A rundown of the week's soon-to-be big stories and upcoming events for Monday, June 13.

1. School Board Meeting
The committee of the whole meeting for the Upper St. Clair school directors is tonight at 7 p.m. and will be held in 's LGI room instead of the . This meeting will be very important because it is expected to be the last before the school directors vote on a final budget.

2. Prom
The Upper St. Clair High School prom will take place Tuesday night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe. 

3. Last Day of School
The last day of school for students kindergarten through 11th grade is Thursday, June 16. It was originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 15. The seniors' last day of school was Thursday, June 9.

4. High School Graduation
The high school commencement ceremonies will take place Thursday, June 16. The International Baccalaureate (IB) graduation will take place a 5:30 p.m. The full graduation will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the high school's football stadium. If the weather does not cooperate, the ceremony will be moved to the auditorium and guests will be limited.

5. Planning Commission Meeting
The planning commission meeting will take place Thursday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. , the meeting will take place inside the instead of the . Thursday night's hot topic will include the proposed text amendment application submitted by the land owner of the former Consol Energy headquarters site. Planning commissioners are expected to vote on whether they should recommend the proposed mixed-use development to the board of commissioners.
