Day, 25, will bring her dance background to the Bridgeville-based gym, which focuses on boot camp-style classes that incorporate kettlebells, TRX, battling ropes and body strength exercises.
“With her extensive dance and gymnastics experience, Marissa will help students at the gym incorporate balance, flexibility and strength into their workouts,” notes Justin Thomas, owner and head trainer, Instinct Fitness. “In addition, Marissa is a great example of disproving the myth that strength training makes women bulky.”
Day, a resident of Upper St. Clair, has been involved with dance since the age of three. In addition to teaching at Instinct Fitness, Day is an instructor at Kickline Dance Center, Venetia, Pa.
A graduate of McGill University, Canada, Day is an employee of PA Connecting Communities, Pittsburgh, where she works to improve the quality of life of adults with disabilities.
“Since adding kettlebells and strength training to my fitness routine, I discovered I’m a stronger dancer,” commented Day. “I’m eager to share my knowledge to help others get stronger, fitter and more flexible.”
