Trader Joe's South Hills to Open Nov. 4

Grand opening celebrations and a ceremonial lei cutting will begin at 8 a.m.

Trader Joe's, a unique, neighborhood grocery store with foods and beverages from the exotic to the basic, will celebrate the grand opening of a new store located in Upper St. Clair on Friday, Nov. 4 at 8 a.m. 

To commemorate the official opening Trader Joe’s Captain (store manager) Jennifer Sourbeck, Regional Vice President Rich Millis and the crew will gather for a ceremonial lei cutting to welcome new customers—"Trader Joe’s style." The celebration will continue throughout the day with live music, food demonstrations and stickers for the kids.

The store is located at 1630 Washington Rd.—next to the and where the former Pier 1 Imports store was located. The store is approximately 12,000 square feet. Inside will feature a festive décor mixing traditional Trader Joe’s cedar covered walls, Hawaiian inspired elements throughout the store combined with a local flare including art that celebrates the neighborhoods. Throughout the grocery store there are several amazing hand painted murals that pay homage to the Liberty Tunnel, the Fort Pitt Bridge, Kennywood entrance, Oliver Miller Homestead, the three rivers and more.

The hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. No alcohol will be sold there.

The Upper St. Clair Board of . This will be Trader Joe's second store in Pittsburgh. The other store is located in East Liberty.
