An update on the Sarris website announced on Saturday that the Canonsburg candy shop would re-open March 1.
"On Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, Sarris Candies suffered a fire to a portion of our facility, resulting in the subsequent, but temporary closure of the Canonsburg retail store and ice cream parlor," the statement read. "Although the ice cream parlor will remain closed until May, we are proud to announce the re-opening of our candy store on Thursday, March 1."
The company said the opening date coincides with the second anniversary of the death of its founder, Frank Sarris.

"In his honor ... the Sarris family and all Sarris employees will re-open the retail store in celebration of his passion for chocolate and his love of serving his customers," the statement continued.
