News Nearby: St. Clair Hospital to Break Ground in Peters

Construction of the 40,000-square-foot outpatient facility will begin following Thursday's groundbreaking.

has become the medical mecca of the South Hills in recent years and today St. Clair Hospital is breaking ground on its outpatient facility along Route 19.

With construction originally scheduled to start last summer, the $20 million, 40,000-square-foot facility is now ready to go up.

The building, located at 3928 Washington Road, is set to face Route 19 with a green buffer of landscaping between the road and the facility—complete with 180 spaces of parking behind, creating "a more aesthetically-pleasing" look, we reported last May.

Its site plan was approved last May, and hospital officials will be present today to commence construction.

Once completed next spring, this will be St. Clair Hospital's second all-inclusive outpatient center with a comprehensive line of diagnostic services, physicians’ offices, an on-site café and free parking.
