Traffic Snags on Liberty Bridge, Banksville Road This Weekend

Planning to drive anywhere around the city this weekend? Here are a few sticky spots that could stall your travels.
PennDOT will perform this work weather permitting, and the schedule could change:
Banksville Road: Work to improve Banksville Road (Route 19) between Beverly/McFarland Road and the Parkway West (I-376) in the City of Pittsburgh, Mt. Lebanon Township and will occur from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.

I-579/Crosstown Boulevard/Liberty and Veterans Bridges: The ramp connecting the Liberty Bridge (Route 3069) to northbound I-579 (Crosstown Boulevard) will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Saturday, and the ramp from Bigelow Boulevard to southbound I-579/Liberty Bridge and the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes in the City of Pittsburgh will be closed this weekend from 8 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday. Note: The HOV will be reopened Sunday evening for traffic leaving the Steelers pre-season game at Heinz Field.
Parkway West/Fort Pitt Bridge: Work to inspect the Fort Pitt Bridge (I-376) in the City of Pittsburgh will occur from 6 to noon Sunday on Sunday morning, Aug. 19. The left lane on the outbound bridge (westbound lower deck) between the Stanwix Street on-ramp and the Fort Pitt Tunnel entrance will be closed. The ramp and access to the tunnel will remain open.

Squirrel Hill Tunnel Rehabilitation: Traffic in the westbound (inbound) Squirrel Hill Tunnel on the Parkway East (I-376) will be restricted to a single lane from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights for tunnel rehabilitation work.
Grant Street Tunnel improvements: Westbound (inbound) Parkway East/Central (I-376) in the City of Pittsburgh will be closed between Grant Street (Exit 71A) and the Fort Pitt Bridge/I-279 ramps from 9 p.m. on Friday through approximately noon Saturday. The ramp from Grant Street to westbound I-376 will also be closed. Traffic will be detoured using Fort Pitt Boulevard.
