The Wizard of Oz

Fort Couch Middle School Performing Arts, under the direction of Mr. Thomas Hunsberger, proudly presents "The Wizard of Oz" on Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, at 7:30 PM, at the USC High School Theater. "The Wizard of Oz" is a musical that is based on L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz. The Fort Couch production will be a full length musical complete with live orchestra, sets, and costumes.  The ticket booth opens at 6 p.m. on the evening of each performance. Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $1 for students, and USC senior citizens get in free.

All interested students of varying abilities are included in a variety of capacities, including lead roles, chorus, pit orchestra, dancers, and stage crew. Involvement in a production of this magnitude allows students a rewarding and fulfilling experience not typically available in most districts prior to high school.

The goal of the Fort Couch Musical is to provide students positive performance experiences in the arts, helping them to prepare for success not only in music but throughout their lives. Participation in the Fort Couch musical also affords students a bonding experience, where lasting and meaningful memories are created.
