The committee overseeing the Hall of Fame has assembled a list of nominees, one that will be announced during the first night of the borough’s Oktoberfest celebration in September.

While borough Manager Terry Hazlett, who sits on the committee – it also includes Pete Povich, WJPA disc jockey; Brad Hundt, Observer-Reporter entertainment writer; Adam Brock, local “American Idol” finalist; Vic DaPra, owner of Guitar Gallery and others – was mum on the rest of the list, he said it will include artists spanning the ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

“We’re trying to come up with a list of 40 nominees, and we already settled on 25,” Hazlett said Thursday.

After the announcement of the nominees, ballots will be mailed to a list of voters in the music industry that includes critics, DJs and even artists themselves.

A list of inductees should be released by January of February.

While the committee is still building its website and initiating a fundraising campaign to pay for the museum, he said an induction ceremony is tentatively scheduled to coincide with next year’s Fourth of July celebration in the borough.

Hazlett said that, tentatively, an induction ceremony would be followed by a concert at , with inductees possibly participating in the borough’s Fourth of July parade.

He said he expects about 20 artists to be inducted into the hall of fame the first year to acknowledge the “many deserving musicians” from across those four decades.
