Upper St. Clair Prepares For Veterans Park Groundbreaking

Ceremony will take place on Friday, July 29.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a Veterans Park in Upper St. Clair is scheduled for Friday, July 29 at 10 a.m. 

The ceremony will be held at the site which is located in the green space next to the Upper St. Clair municipal building. Lanny Frattare, former Pittsburgh Pirates broadcaster, will emcee the event.

Construction of the park will be completed this fall with a dedication ceremony planned for Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

Less than $125,000 is needed to complete the project’s funding. The fundraising committee, whose efforts have resulted in the collection of more than $500,000 in in-kind services and monetary donations, expects to raise the remaining funds over the next few weeks. Opportunities remain for sponsorship of site monuments and all donations of $1,000 and greater will be permanently recognized at the site.
