Thousands Dash for Down Syndrome Awareness
The Three Rivers Dash for Down Syndrome was held at Hartwood Acres in Allison Park on Saturday.
Thousands of area families bundled up on Saturday to support Down syndrome awareness.
Despite cold temperatures and high winds, Hartwood Acres was packed for the , hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh.
The 17th-annual event included an awareness walk through the park, as well as food, entertainment and activities for people of all ages and abilities. The Kings Frownie Brownie, McDonalds' Ronald McDonald, Eat-n Park's Smiley, Chick-fil-A's cow and Mt. Lebanon's fire dog, Sparky, were among those who came to visit families.

Children enjoyed free snacks, a petting zoo, train rides around the park and music.Money raised by donations and sponsorships stays with the local community and directly impacts families.
