Severe Thunderstorm Possible Wednesday Afternoon in Upper St. Clair

The primary threat would be from damaging wind gusts.

There is a small chance that thunderstorms may become severe Wednesday afternoon in Upper St. Clair, according to a hazardous outlook issued by the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

"The primary threat would be from damaging wind gusts, but large hail is also possible," the statement says.

  • Wednesday: A slight chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Wednesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 3 a.m., then a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. West wind 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
