Safety Day Returns to Bill Gray Volvo

Did you know eight out of 10 car seats are improperly installed? Now, you don't have to worry. Back for the third time is Bill Gray Volvo's annual Safety Day & Picnic this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The free event will have hot dogs, refreshments and fun for the kids—a , ambulance and police car will be present.

"A great event geared toward safety and families, you do not need to be in the market for a car or even own a Volvo," said Kirsten McGrath of Bill Gray Volvo. 

"The car seat inspectors are all from the fire department and recommend you call ahead to make an appointment so you don't have to wait long while you're there. They prefer that the child who rides in the seat is present, but it isn't required." 

There will also be prizes and giveaways at Saturday's event, and according to McGrath, children are welcome to sit in the vehicles and try on the township staff's equipment.

If you do own a Volvo, McGrath said you do not need to be a Bill Gray customer. The dealership is also scheduling fire safety inspections of any Volvo vehicle, she said.

"We will not keep anyone's name or information. We are simply adding people to the firemen's calendar."
