"And it's fun to see everyone," Ellen said.

John and Liliane Harhigh have also been selling their goods at the flea market for nearly 20 years. They haul their collectibles from Peters Township every year.

"The people here are really nice. It's a pleasure to come," Liliane said.

Upper St. Clair residents Dan and Lisa Laurent were pleasantly surprised after their first year participating in the flea market.

"We have a four-year-old and six-year-old and needed to clear out the clutter. We heard it was family-friendly and we had a neighbor who had success and we've done fabulous. Eighty perfect of what we brought is sold," Dan said. "For other parents, it's definitely worth considering."

Other vendors used the flea market as a chance to raise money for charity, including a group of cheerleaders. Half of the proceeds the girls raised will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the other half will be donated to the Upper St. Clair School District Foundation.

"It's cool to be able to raise money for a cause," Molly Krawczyk said.

"Cheerleading season season is short so it's nice we get to spend this time together," Maura Brody said. "And it's a good reflection on Upper St. Clair."

For a $12 fee, each vendor received two parking spaces to set up in the parking lot. There were about 70 vendors set up from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Community Flea Market has been put on every year in Upper St. Clair since 1991, rain or shine. There was only one recent year the market had to close down early, due to a tornado watch.
