More Washington Road Improvements This Weekend in Mt. Lebanon

Restrictions will exist between Mt. Lebanon and Ordale boulevards.

Work to improve Washington Road (Route 19/3069) in Mt. Lebanon will continue this weekend, Aug. 10-12, weather permitting, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0.

Single-lane traffic in the northbound direction will occur on Washington between Mt. Lebanon Boulevard (Route 3042) and Ordale Boulevard from 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, through 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug 12, as crews will be excavating and installing pipe.

Motorists are advised to use caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area. Expect delays and allow extra time.

PennDOT officials remind motorists to use all open lanes to merge points.

This work is part of a $5.56-million project that includes milling and resurfacing, guiderail, minor drainage, curbs, pavement markings, signing, traffic signals, median removal, ADA ramps and other improvements on 2.55 miles of Washington Road from Connor/Gilkeson to Alfred Street. As part of this project, work and improvements will also occur on Gilkeson and Connor roads in the area of the Washington Road intersection. Overall work will conclude in early 2014. The prime contractor is Lindy Paving.
