Local Events to Celebrate Valentine's Day

In honor of Valentine's Day next Tuesday, Feb. 14, here is a look at the local events you and your family can attend to celebrate the loving holiday.

1.
Where/When: 's multipurpose room 1, 1 p.m. on Thursday
Why Go?: Spend a delightful afternoon at the library sipping tea and being entertained by . Tea and sweets will be provided. Bring your own teacup. Registration is required. Space is limited.

2.
Where/When: , 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Family Prom is an event for the family to dress up for a night of fun and dancing, but most importantly to create memories that will last a lifetime. There will be a live DJ, crafts, family photos, finger foods, desserts and beverages.
Pricing: $20 for 2, $28 for 3, $36 for 4, $44 for 5, $52 for 6 or more

Where/When: South Park, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Run with your heart this Valentine's Day by running the Cupid's Chase 5K Run in at nearby South Park! Great prizes, giveaways and the best way to make a love connection in the new year! The Cupid's Chase 5K Run supports Community Options, Inc. (COI) COI is a national nonprofit organization that develops housing and employment support for people with developmental disabilities.
Pricing: Before Feb. 11, the cost is $35. Day of the run, the cost is $50. Click here to register online.

Where/When: , 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Join The Pie Place for their Valentine's Day Kids Class. Each child (ages 4 and up) will decorate a nine-inch heart cake with fondant accents. Choice of yellow or chocolate cake. Space is limited, so register by calling 412-835-4410.

Where/When: , 5 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: This Saturday St. Thomas More Parish will celebrate World Marriage
Day with mass at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and a dance in the family life center. Call 412-833-0031 to make a reservation.
Pricing: $45 per couple, $160 for a table of 8, $25 for singles

Where/When: Upper St. Clair Library's children's storytime room, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday
Why Go?: Kids of all ages, get ready for Valentine's Day by creating some great decorations at the library. Parents are asked to assist their children when they are making their projects.
