Help Dori Lose Weight, Find New Home

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is available for adoption.

Dori is a 6 year old, 43-pound Pembroke Welsh Corgi looking for a new home.

Her owners surrendered her to the Animal Rescue League because she was chasing the cats and herding them around the house. They acquired her from relatives who were leaving her outside with no shelter or water. And they were feeding her people food for the past five years—and that's why she weights 43 pounds and not 25.

Dori is on a special diet now, and she has already lost 10 pounds. She likes to pretend she's a lapdog, even though she's still a little plump. She likes to play with other dogs, but she needs a no cat household.

Dori is great with well-mannered children, though she might try to herd them by nipping at their heels. Dori is very intelligent, and is such a quick learner, that she really needs a job to do. Dori is usually very protective, and very vocal, so she would make great watchdog, although sometimes she likes to bark just to amuse herself.

She loves to go for walks, and she's naturally curious. She is always eager to explore new sights and smells, so you might want to keep a good eye on her.

If you have any questions about this loveable girl please contact Joelle in the Adoptions Department at 412-661-6452 ext 215 or email her at Jstrahler@animalrescue.org.
