What's Happening St. Patrick's Day Weekend

Here are five things to check out in and near Upper St. Clair.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Well, Upper St. Clair Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time.

Where/When:, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: Come purchase new and gently used children’s toys, books, furniture, and clothing (up to size 14), and maternity for bargain prices! All proceeds benefit Youth Work Camps and Choir Tour.

Where/When:, 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The Steelers Benefit Basketball game will be held in the new Bethel Park High School Gymnasium! All proceeds benefit the Sgt. Charles Bonczek/Bethel Park Police Association College scholarships. Tickets are available at Evey Hardware, Eat N Park on 88 and the police records room.
Pricing: Tickets are $7 in advance, $9 at the door

Where/When: South Hills Assembly of God, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go: Compassion Connection is hosting a free health fair and conference this Saturday. Professional counselors, facilitators and speakers will present 12 topics in these four tracks: Marriage and love, parenting, seniors and personal best.

Where/When: Downtown Pittsburgh, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go: The Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place this weekend in downtown Pittsburgh. Click here for the parade route. This parade is the second largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world. Pittsburgh's very large and active Irish community come together each year to produce a family-oriented celebration of Ireland's patron Saint. For other events, click here.

Where/When: Bower Hill Community Church, 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: This afternoon of tea and refreshments will include a raffle, live music, fashion show by Pennystix and a kids resale. All proceeds benefit an upcoming mission to Haiti to install solar water purification systems through “Living Waters for the World.” Call 412-561-4114 for ticket prices.
