Memorial Day Weekend Planner

Here are five events to check out this holiday weekend.

Welcome to your special edition of the Get Out Weekend Planner!

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for Memorial Day weekend.

Well, Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets to start off your three-day weekend if you're staying in town.

1.
Where/When: , 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: Alumni campers who attended the Pittsburgh Pirates Fantasy Camp in Bradenton, Florida this past January will reunite at the USC Community & Recreation Center for the Field of Dreams. The third annual event will begin at 10 a.m., with two additional games to follow at 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Pirates Fantasy campers will be wearing their official Pirates uniforms while playing against their former teammates, and proceeds from their entrance fees will be donated to Pirates Charities. There is no cost to the public to attend these games, and you might even catch a glimpse of a few former Pirates players, too!

Where/When: 1 Washington Federal Way, Washington, PA, 6:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: The Washington Wild Things present Early Intervention Families' Night. Experience the Field of Dreams: take the field with the Wild Things players and stand next to them for the playing of the national anthem. In addition, former MLB all-star and USC alum Sean Casey will be featured. He will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs. The game will begin at 7:05 p.m. and fireworks are planned after the game. Field of Dreams participants need to be lined up at the Party Deck at 6:30 p.m.
Pricing: $5 for general admission and $9 for reserve level

Where/When: PNC Park, 7:05 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: Enjoy Memorial Day weekend at PNC Park! Bring the family and cheer on the Pirates as they take on Chicago Cubs. Arrive early to see students from on the field during the national anthem.
Pricing: Tickets start at $7

4.
Where?/When?:, 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Bring your current project and enjoy the fellowship of other knitters and crocheters as you stitch. Participants meet in the library workroom, second floor of the library.
Pricing: Free

5.
Where/When:, 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go: Make a reservation now for your entire family to enjoy a special breakfast out in their pajamas. The morning will be filled with good food, games and a family caricature! Special prizes will be given to people in pajamas!
