Get Out: Egg Hunt, Book Launch or Hear Phil Bourque

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

Welcome to your Get Out Weekend Planner!

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Well, Upper St. Clair Patch is coming to the rescue. Check out our picks for the best activities to hit.

1.
Where/When:Toonseum, 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: You're invited to the official launch of Wish Your Mouth Had a Backspace Key, by Upper St. Clair cartoonist Francis Cleetus. The book is a wacky compilation of tech toons about people and their off-center relationships with technology. Come get your copy signed at Toonseum on Friday, March 30!

2.
Where?/When?: , 8:30 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Phil Bourque, former Pittsburgh Penguin and current Penguins radio broadcaster, will speak at this dynamic morning planned to honor local high school junior and senior athletes who have a strong faith commitment. Our emcee for the morning will be Tom McGough. Honor our area youth, hear a great speaker, and enjoy breakfast with us.

3.
Where?/When?: , 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Hopefully the winter snow has compressed the plant life in the meadows and the “invaders” will be easy to spot. Invaders? Not alien life forms, just saplings and woody shrubs! In order for the meadows to stay meadows, you have to intervene in the succession process. (That’s when the trees gradually return to take over the grassy areas.) Bring your work gloves, loppers, tree pruners and bow saws as you form a tree-whacking conga line and keep our meadows critter-friendly!
