Weekend Things: Flapjacks, Chocolate & Creek Cleanup

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

It's Friday morning and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Well, Upper St. Clair Patch is coming to the rescue.

We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for the best activities to hit.

1.
Where/When: , 8 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Baker Elementary PTA Executive Board invites you to the first Families and Flapjacks Breakfast. There are two seatings, the first at 8 a.m. and the second at 9:30 a.m. Bring your family and friends to this yummy fundraiser that supports an awesome cause, our kids' education. There will also be face painting and a raffle with great prizes. Click here for the registration form. 
Pricing: 11 years and older: $8; 10 years and younger: $5; 2 years and younger: Free!

Where/When:, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Join Paddle Without Pollution and Allegheny Land Trust at 9 a.m. to clean up the water and shoreline of the three mile portion of Chartiers Creek flowing from the newly acquired ALT property adjacent to the Frosty Valley golf course, passing through Boyce Mayview Park and concluding at ALT’s Wingfield Pines property. Meet at Frosty Valley and launch your boats there to pick up trash from a canoe or kayak. A special parking area at the golf course will be provided. You may also enter the woods to be part of the land-based portion of the cleanup. Lunch will be provided after the cleanup at the Wingfield Pines property. Shuttles will then be available to return to your car at the golf course. Click here to register.

Where?/When?: , 11 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Enjoy art displays, live music, contests, crafts and more! The event will feature over 100 pieces of art displayed through the center, live performances, contests, interactive art and more! Click here for the schedule.

Where/When: Bedner's Greenhouse in McDonald, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go: Join Bedner’s Greenhouse nearby in McDonald for a weekend of gardening classes and workshops, all day free wine tasting, food, music and much more! for a full schedule of events.

Where/When: , 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Get to the heart of your heart disease risk and get a FREE bloodwork screening at South Hills Village in the Lower Level North Court. Screenings include total cholesterol (LDL, HDL, triglycerides) and blood glucose screenings.
