It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Upper St. Clair Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

1.
Where?/When?: Houston American Legion Picnic Grounds, Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: This 28th Annual event is sponsored by the Houston VFD. The festival features family oriented arts, crafts, food and entertainment. Click here to view a full schedule of events.
Pricing: Free admission and shuttle.

Where?/When?: , Thursday-Saturday, 7 p.m.
Why Go?: Join the Outdoor Classroom for a fun and UN-spooky night in the forest under the autumn moon. The hikes are family and young child friendly and are not meant to scare! Groups are encouraged to attend as we learn the science behind some of the sights and sounds of the nocturnal world. Registrations are required and walk-ins will not be accepted. Each child will receive The Outdoor Classroom participation patch for completing the hike and your group's photo will be taken with our Classroom jack-o-lanterns! Pricing: $8 per child, $6 per adult.

Where?/When?: , Everyday in October
Why Go?: Panera Bread is inviting its customers to join in the fight against breast cancer by purchasing a Pink Ribbon Bagel in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Panera will GO PINK and partner with The Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation (YWBCAF) and Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation (MWRIF) and donate a portion of the proceeds from every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold. The YWBCAF and Panera GO PINK event will take place in all 28 Pittsburgh café locations and the proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Patient Navigator Program at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.

Why Go?: Bring a used children's coats, laundered and in good condition between Oct. 4 to 27 to Boyce Middle School for the annual coat drive benefiting SHIM. Hats, scarves, gloves and mittens are also welcome and can be dropped off in the collection box in the Boyce Office during school hours. The school's goal for this year is 200 coats. Help break this record and donate today!

Where?/When?: 84 Lumber Offices Pavilion and Ball Fields, Saturday, 9 a.m.
Why Go?: 84 Fitness Center will sponsor the 2nd Annual "Furry" Fall Festival social event for dogs and their humans. The event will be held at the pavilion and ball fields behind the 84 Lumber offices on Route 519. The event features a dog walk, a Patriotic presentation, a Blessing of the animals, an exotic bird demonstration, a dog obedience display, Chinese auction and much more. Washington Area Humane Society alumni dogs are encouraged to attend. The theme for the Dog Party is "Pets for U.S. Vets." The "Pets for U.S. Vets" initiative is a way of giving back to our local community. All of the proceeds made at the event go into the Veteran's Fund at the WAHS so the adoption fee can be waived for our local veterans wishing to adopt a dog or cat. Where?/When?: Scott Township Municipal Park, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go?: This annual festival features live entertainment, food, crafts, pony rides, petting zoo, pumpkin painting and much more!

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 10 to 11 a.m.
Why Go?: Smell the fresh air and stretch your legs on the Saturday Outdoors Hikes with the .  These one hour hikes will cover a different topic each month while following the many beautiful trails around the Classroom. These hikes are perfect for all ages and great for family activities that will give everyone a chance to connect with nature. Call 412-838-0064 to register.

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Kids, ages 4 and up, are invited to this Fall baking class.  Each child will decorate an 11 inch pumpkin shaped cake using basic cake decorating skills and fondant accents. Call 412-835-4410 to register.
Pricing: $30.

9.
Where?/When?: , Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Why Go?: The Rotary Club of Upper St Clair/Bethel Park annual Chicken Bar-B-Que will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church this Saturday. The South Hills Interfaith Ministries will get a share of the proceeds!
Pricing: $10 in advance / $12 at the door.

10.
Where?/When?: , Saturday, 6 p.m.
Why Go?: St. Thomas More Church will host the annual Octoberfest in the Family Life Center. The event features great food and wonderful entertainment. Menu items include roast port, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, red cabbage, applesauce and a beverage. Tickets are available in the Parish Office.
Pricing: $9/adults, $5/children.
