A lot of things are happening in and near Upper St. Clair this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where/When: South Park Flag Retirement Plaza, Thursday, 1 p.m.
Why Go: The specially designed burn receptacle located at the heart of the South Park Flag Retirement Plaza is ready for the tattered United States' flags to be place inside it and set aflame in honor of their service to the country. The Allegheny County Council hosts the annual event to commemorate our veterans and to properly retire as outlined by the U.S. Code the flags that tirelessly serve our nation. Local boy scouts and veterans will dispose of worn United States’ flags by placing them into the burn pit.

Where/When: , Thursday, 4:30 - 7 p.m.
Why Go: The Upper St. Clair Lions Club will host a Farmers Market in the Western Presbyterian Church Parking lot until Sept. 29. .

Where/When: , Thursday & Friday
Why go?: The USC High School club, Kids Helping Kids, will be running a silent auction in the display cases outside the theater. All proceeds benefit their annual work in the Dominican Republic. All members of the community are invited to swing by anytime during the week to bid on the items. Student volunteers will be available from 10:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 - 3 p.m. If you prefer to look at the items outside these times, you may submit electronic bids. Where/When: 915 Jessop Pl, Washington, PA 15301, Friday & Saturday, 9 a.m - 3 p.m.
Why Go?: Pet Search is hosting a Yard Sale and Treasure hunt to benefit rescued animals that are being cared for by Pet Search. Pet Search is an animal rescue group that serves Washington County. Donations for the yard sale are still being accepted..

Where/When: Trax Farms, Thursday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Why go?: It's strawberry season again at Trax Farms! All weekend long there will be great strawberry treats and activities for the whole family. The treats, made from Trax Farms' fresh strawberries, include strawberry covered Belgium waffles, sundaes, milkshakes and slushies! There will also be great food from the grill. Families can participate in pony rides, the petting zoo, train rides, fishing for berries, a bounce house and so much more! Pick-your-own strawberries will be available, too. Call ahead to make sure of picking times and dates.

Where/When: Bethel Park Trail, Saturday, 8:30 a.m.
Why Go?: This is race will run along the Bethel branch of the Montour Trail. The race begins on the Peters Township side of the Trail by Clifton Road with a turn around near Brush Run Rd. The finish line is just beyond the starting point. Register online by June 9!

Where/When: , Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Why Go: Join the Outdoor Classroom and the Upper St. Clair Township Department of Recreation and Leisure Services for the second annual Earth Extravaganza. There will be games, crafts and other eco-friendly events. This year's theme is "forests." to view a full schedule of the day.
Pricing: Free admission, some activities require a small fee

Where/When: Lowe’s, Saturday, 10 - 11 a.m.
Why Go?: Children 3 and older will love building this Goofy Golf kit!
Pricing: Free!

9.
Where/When: Michaels, Sunday, 1 - 3 p.m.
Why Go?: Ages 3 and up can make special handmade gifts for dad's special day. Participants must purchase a tie or t-shirt while supplies last.
Pricing: Purchase of tie or t-shirt

10.
Where/When: , Sunday, 2 - 5 p.m.
Why Go?: This is the third annual “Pentemusifest” aka the Pentecost Music and Strawberry Festival. There will be music, strawberry shortcake, games for all ages and more! All proceeds will be used to support four children in Haiti for a full year.
Pricing: $5 per person, ages 8 and up.
