Get Out: Veterans Park Dedication, Rummage Sale and Pumpkin Plunge

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the holiday weekend. Upper St. Clair Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for you and your family to celebrate Halloween the right way! Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something everyone can enjoy.

Where?/When?: Upper St. Clair Veterans Park,  1:30 p.m. on Friday
Why go?: The on Veterans Day. All residents, especially veterans and their families, are invited to attend this event to remember and honor those of the community who have given so much for our freedom.

Where?/When?: Atria's, all day Friday
Why Go?: On Veteran's Day all 7 Atria's will be hosting a Fundraiser for Military Connections. Simply take this to the restaurant and 15% of your check will be donated to Military Connections!
Pricing: Free admission.

Where?/When?: , 8 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Come check out some great bargains on clothes, household items, books, sporting goods, holiday decorations and more. All proceeds benefit mission.

Where?/When?: Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: This holiday shopping event features local artisans, vendors and a homemade bake sale. Plus, the canned food drive will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
Pricing: Free admission.

Where?/When?: Steel City Harley in Washington, 10:30 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Come participate in Jay's Sports Bar & Restaurant and Steel City Harley-Davidson's 3rd Annual Toys for Tot's Run. Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The race begins at Steel City Harley-Davidson's at noon. The destination will be Jay's Sports Bar & Restaurant. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided to all participants.
Pricing: New, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more.

Why Go?: The Plunge for a Pumpkin cost includes pumpkin and decorating at the Outdoor Classroom. Children under 48" are required to have a parent in the pool with them or may pick a pumpkin from the water's edge.

Where?/When?: , 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The 3rd Annual Bounty of Boyce Mayview Park Fall Fest festivities will include arts and crafts, C&RC pumpkin plunge, cider tasting, baking contest, pumpkin decorating, covered wagon rides, music and much more. Why Go?: This event features many tea varieties, tea sandwiches, tea breads with spread, scones with jam and cream, mini dessert selection and fruit garnish. Order tickets today at customer service or call 412-835-3246. Reservations are required. There will be two seatings at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Where?/When?: , 7 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The "Thanks for the Memories: A Salute to our Veterans" program is presented by the South Hills Keystone Chorus. The event will be held in the Family Life Center.

Why Go: Originally organized in 1919 and locally reestablished in 2002, the Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra is the largest mandolin orchestra in the United States. The evening promises to be both entertaining and surprising as you come to realize the many different sizes and styles of mandolins.
