Join the Outdoor Classroom and the Upper St. Clair Township Department of Recreation and Leisure Services for the second annual Earth Extravaganza. There will be games, crafts and other eco-friendly events. This year's theme is "forests." Submit your best forest photo into the photo contest!
The schedule for this year's event is:
- 10-11 a.m.: Nature Hike for all ages and abilities. This is wheelchair, stroller and dog friendly.
- 10-11 a.m.: Log Search for Pre K through second grade and family lead by the Outdoor Classroom.
- 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Recycled crafts in the learning lab.
- 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Crafts in the C&RC lobby.
- 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Dog training demonstration with German Shepherds!
- 12-1 p.m.: Creek/Pond Study for all ages lead by The Outdoor Classroom staff. Get a little wet and wiggely with the Classroom staff as we hunt for crayfish and other tiny creatures! Best for children that can walk down the hill on their own.
- 12-1 p.m.: Dog friendly hike! All dogs must be on a 6’ non-retractable leash and under control at all times. Please bring “doggie bags” to keep the park clean. No females in heat please
- 1-2 p.m.: Meditation demonstration for adults with Dorit Brauer
- “Spontaneous Acts of Beauty” hike for children 8 – 12 yr old (with or without an adult) with Indigo Raffle. This is a walking workshop celebrating the beauty of the forest.
