Columbia Gas Launches Pipeline Improvement Project in Upper St. Clair

Temporary lane closures and some gas service disruptions will occur.

Columbia Gas has started a $1.6 million pipeline improvement project in Upper St. Clair.

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc., will be making a significant investment to upgrade existing facilities in Upper St. Clair beginning this week.

The company is replacing more than 11,000 feet of existing pipe with state-of-the-art plastic pipe on Old Washington Road, Southern Highlands Road, Country Club Drive, Fairway Circle, Pleasant View Circle, Marwood Drive, Cremona Drive, Amesbury Drive and Wiltshire Drive.

Construction will take place Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with temporary lane closures during working hours only.

For a portion of the project, there will be a detour impacting Southern Highlands Road. The detour will be clearly marked, and motorists are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of November.

The construction work will require a temporary interruption of natural gas service for individual customers while their service is connected to the new gas main. Columbia will make personal contact with customers prior to shutting off service and to schedule service restoration.

As a reminder, all Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees and contractors carry identification cards bearing their names, photographs and identification numbers.
